Sophie Howarth's Golden Eagle Swoops in to Published Art.

This exhibition is part of a larger body of work on festivals which has continued since Sophie Howarth's early career where I worked solely in the music industry, largely at 'Rock' festivals. The creation of my book Peace Love and Brown Rice: A Photographic History of the Big Day Out allowed her to see a reverence that is inspired at audience level. Opening December 10, through til February 12, 2016. The Eagle as a symbol of transformation, our higher selves that fly, expand in time space. The Celtic Rune Perth is symbolised by the flight of the eagle, soaring flight, free from entanglement lifting oneself above the ordinary acquiring a broader vision. Sophie says "The thread that runs through my work is energy. It is the fabric, the element that holds the disparity together, its varying incarnations, it is the invisible substance often unexpected, unrehearsed. Through this work I learnt that with simplicity our relationship to nature, environment, and the ‘Eternal Blue Sky' is almost tangible and the Mongolians were so well placed for me to realise this. Presence of self being the key to touch the intangible and transmit it to images of transformation."
