Art on the walls, as well as in books!

Published Art  exists to  inspire  creative  people and  those who  just  love damn fine eye candy.  Our selection of books are here to  grow your mind and  practice, as well as share ideas. So we thought, where the shelves stopped, we  would  invite artists to  share their work, and  ideas and if you truely love a piece you can buy that too!

Sophie Howarth

 December 10 to February 13th  2016

This exhibition is part of a larger body of work on festivals which has continued since Sophie Howarth's early career where I worked solely in the music industry, largely at 'Rock' festivals.

The creation of her book Peace Love and Brown Rice: A Photographic History of the Big Day Out allowed her to see a reverence that is inspired at audience level. Opening December 10, through til February 12, 2016.
The Eagle as a symbol of transformation, our higher selves that fly, expand in time space. The Celtic Rune Perth is symbolised by the flight of the eagle, soaring flight, free from entanglement lifting oneself above the ordinary acquiring a broader vision.

Join them as they explore Wabi Sabi, a Japanese Aestehtic Element that focuses on the acceptance of imperfection, celebrating the world of lomography and plastic cameras.

26th March  to April 26th 2015

Matthew Vasilescu’s background of commercial photography, often with not for profit organisations, has enabled him to see the beauty and value in the things we take for granted, things we assume will always be part of out geographical and cultural landscape, his eye and interpretation of each scene in Disappearing Dream opens the narrative for the viewer to recall the history of the house and it’s occupants both past and present.

Matt Palmer

26 February  to March 25 2015

Little Birds is a new series of portraits by Sydney based New Zealand artist Matt Palmer. This series is a return to Palmer's exploration of portraiture, last explored in a series named “Antiportraits” exhibited in 2007. The old becomes new as Matt Palmer literally brings the past and the present day together. The new becomes old. A blur of past and the present, triggering memories and existing relationships. Exploring the feelings we have with established and more recognisable images, the faces are cast from personal friends and family of the artist, which consciously brings a personal element to what is an archetypal subject.

Sassy Park

December 16th - Jan 26

Sassy Park is a multidiciplinary Sydney  artist  with a background in painting, she took up ceramics with the idea of stretching the concept of what ceramics should and could be. Making jewellery and small objects by hand was a starting point. Through playing with materials and morals, each object strives to be beautiful in its own right.

Sept 2014  Naturally  Connected.

Phillippa’s creative works are inspired and driven by the geometry of nature, her works pay homage to the mathematical codes of the universe. In recent creations her inspiration has focused on the geometry of flora and fauna. Her jewellery involves layering formal geometric forms with organic etchings and precious metal casting of plants and bees. This layering of organic and formal, light and dark, has translated into large merino wool felt pieces . Her largest pieces, titled Bee Totem, are the centrepiece of the Naturally Connected exhibition.
